Being handed an objectively stupid mission. Understanding completely that it is stupid. Knowing that everyone around you also knows it is stupid. And then executing it with absolute professionalism anyway because that's what you do.
Paint rocks. Pull weeds in the rain. Move these boxes to that building so they can be moved back tomorrow. Brief the general on something the general already knows. Do it again but faster. Now do it again but slower and in dress uniform.
Understood. Moving out.
Veterans have a unique superpower: the ability to complete absolutely absurd tasks with complete dedication while maintaining a perfectly straight face and saving the breakdown for after.
Civilians call this "going above and beyond."
Veterans call this "Tuesday."
